Tottenham Hotspur are no different from any club really when it comes to having Academy graduates who make it, and then those that don’t, yet with fresh surroundings seem to rediscover the form that made them so highly rated in the first place and Marcus Edwards certainly falls into that latter bracket.
With unsuccessful loan spells and plenty of questions about his development, with plenty of people latching onto manager Mauricio Pochettino’s Lionel Messi comparison, the 20-year-old departed the club over the summer and made the move to Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes. On Thursday evening he was making his second start for the club as they faced Arsenal in the Europa League, scoring in what became a 3-2 defeat.
Of course Marcus Edwards scores 👀

Reacting to his performance on social media, it seems a number of fans were pleased – not only with the Arsenal element – but seeing him enjoy his football once again and maybe, get himself back on an upward curve.
Poch has done it again!

Just seen that Marcus Edwards scored for Vitoria away at Arsenal. What a legend! Massive shame that it didn’t work out for him at Tottenham. It was said for years that he would end up coming through at Spurs.

Spurs reject Marcus Edwards has now scored as many Europa League goals at the Emirates in one game (1) as Mesut Ozil, who has played 9 (NINE) home games.

Sold Marcus Edwards to Vitoria just so he could come back to London and score at the Emirates. This really is Levy’s world and we’re all living in it pic.twitter.com/C4SMJuD09H
